Oldie Review: Gilmore Girls 307 - They Shoot Gilmores, Don’t They?

Let’s just say that this is one of our favorite Gilmore Girls episodes EVER. Even with seven seasons under its belt, Gilmore Girls still manages to amaze us with this episode.
Our thoughts:
- Before we go into the awesome-ness that is Rory and Jess, can we just say that Lorelai hoping to beat Kirk in the dance marathon is hilarious? “I wonder if he’ll cry.” Classic Lorelai.
- The dance marathon showed classic Stars Hollow as well. A 1940s-themed dance marathon where Taylor talks about his past aspirations in becoming a magician, Andrew finds out his girlfriend once dated Liam Neeson, and Lane scoops egg-less egg salad? Sign us up. The only problem is: if this is an annual event, why did we never see it again?
- Jess is perfect for Rory. Let us demonstrate why:
- He understands obscure Oliver Twist references. Dodger, anyone?
- He tells Rory to give “the painful” Ernest Hemingway another chance. Although we may not agree with this sentiment, we still like that he made the suggestion.
- He re-reads Ayn Rand (the “crazy political nut”) just to please Rory.
Yes, we realize that all these reasons are literature-related but could Dean do any of this? NO.
