Today, Doctor Who celebrates 47 years. And if you’re not watching, here are reasons you should:

• There have been 47 years worth of Doctor Who, but don’t worry,you won’t be lost. Each episode is pretty much stand-alone. So watch an episode, and you’ll see how awesome it is.
• You get to see the Doctor travel in time. TIME TRAVEL. ‘Nuff said.
• You get to see Matt Smith and David Tennant, two of the awesomest Doctors.
• You get to see the Daleks, which are these strange-R2D2-robot-looking things that yell “EXTERMINATE.” They’re actually quite adorable.
